On September 24th, AKB48's management company has announced that Nunoya Riru of Akita Prefecture, Inoue Miyu of Iwate Prefecture, and Shiobara Karin of Niigata Prefecture, will terminate all their activities as of September 24th, 2020. They will no longer work as a member of AKB48 Team 8.

Regarding to the case of Nunoya Riru, Inoue Miyu, Shiobara Karin, we (as of AKB48's management company) have been informed about their intentions to end their activities. After a consultation on future activities, we have come to an agreement to terminate the management contract between us as of September 24th, 2020. Consequently, we are announcing that all their activities as a AKB48 Team 8 member has ended.
We deeply apologize for the sudden announcement, to all the people who have been working along with them, and to all the fans who have been supporting them.
This sudden announcement has left many in shock. There is no specific reason stated in the announcement, and even most of the members did not about this beforehand. Therefore, a lot of rumors have been spread on the Internet since yesterday, and some of them were very unpleasant.
We, Team 8 Daily, strongly condemn any rumors with bad intentions that is causing harm to the three former members. There is no evidence to prove any of the rumors, and there should not be any assumption made at this point.
Although it was only a short period of time, we are thankful to have them as part of Team 8, and it has been a pleasure supporting their activities even from apart.
